AEM development · Accessibility audits

AEM sites your authors can run and every visitor can use.

I'm Michael Speranza. I've spent 8+ years on both sides of Adobe Experience Manager: authoring and development. I build components, run migrations and fix accessibility so your team ships faster.

Newark, NJ · Remote across the U.S.

Experience includes work for Novo Nordisk, Microsoft Store and Travel + Leisure.

Roles held through employers and consulting partners. Names are for identification only; no endorsement implied.

Sound familiar?

"Every small change needs a developer ticket."

Components weren't built for authors, so simple updates take weeks.

"Our AEM site has drifted."

Old components, duplicate templates, one-off CSS and fragments nobody owns.

"We need to migrate."

New CMS or component library. No broken pages, no lost content.

"Is our site even accessible?"

Legal or procurement is asking about WCAG. Nobody has tested with a keyboard or screen reader.

  • Authoring cleanup: consolidated components, simpler dialogs, author docs
  • Migrations to a new component system or from another CMS into AEM
  • Page builds and refreshes, including custom CSS/JS

Accessibility audit and remediation

Know where your site stands against WCAG 2.2 AA, and what to fix first.

The audit (fixed price)

  • Up to 5 key pages or templates (home, campaign page, form, etc.)
  • Automated scans plus manual testing: keyboard, focus, screen readers, contrast, headings, forms, alt text, motion
  • A prioritized WCAG 2.2 AA report: what's broken, who it affects and how to fix it, with screenshots and code-level guidance
  • A 45-minute walkthrough with your team

About Michael

I'm a front-end engineer (React, TypeScript) with 8+ years in Adobe Experience Manager. I spent five years as an AEM content manager at Travel + Leisure, then moved into engineering there as a Software Engineer II, building components and helping migrate the site from TeamSite to AEM.

Since then I've worked on front-end and accessibility for the Microsoft Store. Most recently, through a consulting partner, I've been contributing to AEM component migrations and multi-page brand refreshes for a global pharmaceutical company.

That's the advantage: I know what authors and marketers need, and I can build it properly.

Common questions

Do you work with AEM as a Cloud Service and older AEM 6.5 sites?

Yes, I've worked hands-on with both. If your setup is unusual, we'll cover it on the intro call.

Do I need to give you access to our systems?

For development and fix work, yes: typically an AEM author account and repository access under your usual security process. An accessibility audit can often start with just your public URLs (or a staging login).

Will an audit make us "WCAG compliant"?

An audit tells you exactly where you stand against WCAG 2.2 AA and what to fix, in priority order. Compliance comes from fixing the issues and keeping them fixed, which I can help with. It's not a legal certification or legal advice.

Can you work alongside our agency or in-house developers?

Yes. I'm used to working inside larger teams and fitting into existing Git workflows, sprint processes and code review.

How quickly can you start?

Usually within one to two weeks of an agreed scope. Retainer clients get priority turnaround.
